He is the author of more than twenty books of poetry, most recently Syllable of Stone (2006). His 2004 memoir, There Is a Season (What the Stones Remember, U.S.), won the inaugural B.C. Award for Canadian Non-fiction. He lives in Saanichton, British Columbia.
