Most notably, we were the proud recipients of the CBA Libris Award for Publisher of the Year in 2003, and in 2007 we were awarded the CBA Libris Award for Marketing Achievement of the Year for the marketing campaign behind David Suzuki: The Autobiography. This award not only recognized the efforts of our in-house sales & marketing staff, but it also recognized the hard work from our publicists and sales representatives from across the country. As part of the 2009 BC Book Prizes, Douglas & McIntyre was honoured by receiving the BC Booksellers’ Choice Award in Honour of Bill Duthie, for publishing Stephen Bown’s book Madness, Betrayal and the Lash: The Epic Voyage of Captain George Vancouver. High quality book design is a core element of our books and we are fortunate to have a great team of award-winning designers in-house. In the past, many of our books have been awarded Alcuin Book Design Awards; in 2007 Douglas & McIntyre and Greystone Books received 6 Alcuin Awards and 3 honorable mentions, and in 2008 we received 5 Alcuin Awards and 1 honorable mention.
