![]() Tar Sands wins $10,000 Rachel Carson Environment Book AwardNikiforuk’s work is recognized by the Society of Environmental Journalists Greystone Books is thrilled to announce that Andrew Nikiforuk’s book Tar Sands: Dirty Oil and the Future of a Continent has won the Rachel Carson Environment Book Award. The award, which carries a $10,000 US prize, is given by the Society of Environmental Journalists, and Nikiforuk is the first Canadian journalist to win the prize. This marks the fifth award that Tar Sands has been in the running for since it was co-published by Greystone Books and the David Suzuki Foundation last fall.
