Brian Brett’s Trauma Farm nominated for the Writers’ Trust Non-Fiction Prize!

For eighteen years, writer Brian Brett has tended a small farm in the Gulf Islands of British Columbia, affectionately named Trauma Farm. This illuminating memoir of his experiences is threaded with a deep knowledge of biology and botany and explores the gardens, orchards, fields, the mysteries of livestock and poultry, and the social intricacies of rural communities. The winner of the Writers’ Trust Prize will be announced in Toronto on November 24, 2009.
