 Suzuki Wins Alternative Nobel for Environmentalism WorkDavid Suzuki, renowned scientist, environmentalist and activist, has been awarded with the Alternative Nobel for his work to raise awareness about climate change. Suzuki has written extensively on the environment in such books as The Big Picture, his Green Guide, and The Sacred Balance. The prize was created in 1980 by Jakob von Uexkull to acknowledge work that the regular Nobel Prizes do not recognize.
