BookRiff Hires Digital Media Executive Rochelle Grayson as CEO

BookRiff Media is pleased to announce the appointment of Rochelle Grayson as the company's CEO. Grayson joins BookRiff bringing an extensive background in business, technology, entertainment, and education. Most recently, she was President of Work at Play, a digital media agency focused on the monetization of digital content for large entertainment companies.

“Grayson is the right executive to guide BookRiff into the next phase of its evolution. She’s a business development and marketing pioneer with a stellar reputation and proven track record. We’re privileged to have her driving our future business partnerships and growing our market,” said Mark Scott, President of D&M Publishers Inc. and Founder of BookRiff Media Inc.

Rochelle Grayson said, “This is an exciting opportunity. The publishing industry is in the midst of enduring fundamental changes to traditional publishing models, and the market is well poised to embrace BookRiff’s unique business model and innovative way of delivering content. The company has already forged several outstanding partnerships to address these market changes, and is well positioned to facilitate and monetize these new consumer behaviours. I also look forward to BookRiff’s role in building thriving online communities.”

Grayson is currently a board member of the Canadian Internet Registration Authority, Canadian Women in Communications, and Computers for Schools, and she is the industry chair of the University of British Columbia's Social Media Program. As a board member, she also initiated and managed the recent merger of New Media BC and the Wireless Innovation Network of BC to form DigiBC.

Since 2008, Grayson has been nominated as one of Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women by the Women’s Executive Network, named “The New Executive Cool Hunter” by Canadian Business Magazine, included in Vancouver’s top Forty Under 40 by Business in Vancouver, and listed as one of Vancouver's Top 10 Technology Women by Techvibes. She’s also the recipient of the Canadian Women in Communications Trailblazer: Excellence in Leadership Award. Grayson holds an MBA in Finance and Business Policy from the University of Chicago, as well as Master Certifications in Product Development Management and Business Facilitation.
