![]() The Sentimentalists shortlisted for the 2012 Commonwealth Book PrizeDouglas & McIntyre is delighted to announce that Johanna Skibsrud’s The Sentimentalists has been nominated for the 2012 Commonwealth Book Prize. Writers from around the world have been shortlisted for the prize in anticipation of becoming a regional winner on 22 May 2012. Riel Nason’s The Town that Drowned (Goose Lane Editions) and Olive Senior’s Dancing Lessons (Cormorant Books) are the other two Canadian books in the running for the regional prize which will be awarded in five regions: Africa, Asia, Canada and Europe, Caribbean, and the Pacific. Ultimately they are competing to be the overall winner which will be announced at Hay Festival on 8 June 2012. The overall winner will be presented with £10,000.
