D&M PUBLISHER AWARDED TWO PRESTIGIOUS FELLOWSHIPS

D&M Publishers is delighted to announce that Trena White, Publisher, has been awarded the inaugural Canadian Editorial Fellowship with the 2012 International Visitors Program at the International Festival of Authors in Toronto, and the Frankfurt Book Fellowship by the Frankfurt Buchmesse. Both international programs are designed to connect publishing professionals from throughout the world. Ms. White is the only Canadian to be chosen for either program this year.

"It’s a great honour to be granted these opportunities. D&M Publishers has built lasting connections with international publishing contacts over the years, and it’s vital that our next generation of leaders continue in this tradition. The fellowships will allow us to do just that," White said.

The IFOA’s Fifth Annual International Visitors Program, from October 21 – 25, 2012, will bring greater exposure to Canada’s literary community and allow the Canadian publishing industry to forge connections with international publishing partners. White and a prestigious group of international editors, publishers, and agents will meet with various Canadian publishers and agents, independent and chain bookstore owners, and enjoy meetings with IFOA authors.

White is one of only 16 people to be awarded the Frankfurt Book Fellowship this year. From September 30 to October 14, 2012, the fellows will visit publishing houses in Frankfurt, Cologne and Berlin, meeting various industry players and book trade experts, and then they will attend the Frankfurt Book Fair, the largest book and media fair in the world.

These visits are of significant strategic importance, White explained. "We’re increasingly publishing to international markets, so strong relationships abroad are essential. I’m excited to bring back new contacts and ideas about the evolving publishing industry to develop within D&M."
