![]() From 1950s Vancouver to Present Day New YorkHaving just been nominated for the City of Vancouver Book Award, Fred Herzog the book clearly spoke to Vancouverites with photos of our young city from the 1950s and 60s, captured in a way that, despite its youth, many of us do not remember. Fred Herzog the photographer has now caught the attention of the world of New York galleries, participating in the show Post-War Perspectives. Showing alongside the likes of Henri Cartier-Bresson, Robert Frank and Helen Levitt, Herzog has been placed in the pantheon that includes some of his strongest influences. The show, which "explores the major trends and attitudes at mid-century as expressed by photographers around the world," is on now until March 29, 2008, at the Laurence Miller Gallery in New York.
